Welcome to my web based portfolio.

This site is designed to provide an overview and description of my learning, experiences, and the competencies I have developed through the coursework and practicum experiences within the Masters of Education program in Applied Child and School Psychology at the University of Calgary.

The first page, about me, includes general information about me such as my interests, goals, educational and work experience. I have also included a copy of my curriculum vitae to provide more detailed information about my education and work experience. The next page is a description of my personal philosophy of psychology related to children and youth.

Under the domains of competency you will see a set of 10 pages each specific to the 10 domains of competency outlined by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP, 1997). Within each domain you will find a brief description of the competencies encompassed within the specific domain. This is followed by a description and examples of the coursework and assignment that I feel provide evidence to my learning and skill sets. Also within each domain, I have included a section outlining my evolution and development within the domain in order to illustrate the development I have grown through in the past two and a half years. Finally, there is a section summarizing my feelings with respect to my relative strengths and weaknesses as well as an ultimate classification of my knowledge and skills for each domain specifically.

Additionally, I have included a page with a description of my proposed furthering activities for those domains in which I have classified as “not yet novice”. And the final page contains information on how to contact me.

Sincerely,
Christy Seton
